Beth + Matt - Wedding Photography - Calgary, AB

I want to share some of my favorite photographs from Beth and Matt's recent wedding. I had so much fun shooting them and their awesome bridal party!

The day started with Beth getting ready with her Maid of Honor Kim, her sister Katherine, and her brother Peter.

Their heartwarming ceremony was held at their church, St. Thomas United Church.

Then we went exploring through Kensington to capture some great shots of Beth and Matt with their bridal party. Kensington is special for Beth and Matt because it is where they live, it's close to where they went to school, and where they hang out. We wanted to capture some of their old memories - and create some new ones - in their wedding photos. Beth and Matt were amazing in front of my camera and I was really able to capture many sides of their personalities, from the wild-and-crazy-romp in the pool with the girls to the tender intimate moments that were shared just between the two of them. I was honored to a part of their incredible wedding day.

The evening ended at The Highwood, located on the SAIT campus. It was a an awesome night of good wine, great food, touching speeches and a whole lotta dancin'!

I love the blue ribbon detail on Beth's wedding dress! A beautiful way to incorporate color and create unity with her bridal party.

If you are ever in the Kensington area and looking for some delicious home-style cooking, check out the Heartland Cafe. I highly recommend their omlettes or a cup of java with a side of cookies. It's also a great place to take photographs!

Baby Saige - Portrait Session

Meet Saige:

*She is 9 months old*

I photographed Saige this past weekend and I couldn't wait to share some of my favourite images from the day's portrait session. Kids around this age are so much fun to photograph. They are so curious, alert and generally pretty happy to see me. Our session was more like play-time than work-time - can't get any better than that!

Rachelle + Mathew Engagement session

I have been getting requests to post some previous wedding, engagement and portrait sessions that I haven't shared yet. My new website is amazing and I am totally in love with it, but there just isn't enough space on it to post every session that I photograph. This blog however, is a perfect place for me to share my past work, recent photo shoots, and all of my upcoming photography sessions that I am so excited about!

I recently finished Rachelle and Mathew's wedding album from their gorgeous wedding here in Calgary, AB. When they stopped by to pick it up I was a little bit sad thinking that this might be one of the last times that I will see them. We have worked so closely together throughout their entire wedding process that I seem to have become attached to them! I first photographed Rachelle when she was a bridesmaid in Dennis and Heather's wedding in 2005 (has it been that long already???) Needless to say, our relationship has been a long time in the making!

One of my favorite aspects of being a wedding and portrait photographer is the amazing people that I get to spend my time with on a daily basis. Weddings especially allow me to really get to know the couple that I am photographing on a personal level and most often, our business relationship soon blossoms into a beautiful friendship. I feel honored to be invited into their world to share and document some of the most important moments in their lives. Rachelle and Mathew are no exception. They are two extraordinary people and I am so happy to have met you guys...now hurry up and have those babies so I can photograph you again! ;)

La Caravan Dance Theatre - Photo Session

I had the incredible opportunity to photograph La Caravan Dance Theatre for their new dance performance "Contrast". The invitation came from the incredibly talented Maya Lewandowski, dancer and choreographer of the show.

La Caravan is presenting a new compilation of work at the Grand Theatre in Calgary, Alberta in June 2008. This is La Caravan's most provocative show and is sure to entice audience members. The show will bring together two previous shows, "CONTRAST" and "THE CORRIDOR", creating a journey of magic and transformation.

The show runs from Thursday June 12 - Saturday June 14, 2008
